Folding Glass Doors

Montego Bay Restaurant — Folding Glass Doors - Montego Bay. Photo by Kyle Nieber on Unsplash.

Six-panel folding glass door system spanning the open wall between an indoor dining room and a covered outdoor patio. When open, the panels fold and stack to one side, completely removing the visual and physical barrier between the two spaces.

Brief

The restaurant wanted to merge its indoor dining room with the existing patio for the busier evening service, but close everything off securely for daytime and AC-only hours.

What we installed

  • Six-panel folding door system, 5.4m total width
  • Heavy-duty aluminum profile system rated for daily commercial use
  • 10mm tempered safety glass panels
  • Top-hung track with stainless rollers, no floor track (keeps the threshold flush)
  • Multipoint locking on the lead panel for after-hours security

Maintenance note

Folding systems on the north coast need the tracks cleaned and lubricated every 3-6 months because of salt air. We left the client a simple maintenance routine and replacement seal kit for the future.
