22 metres of frameless glass balustrade across the main upstairs terrace, replacing a corroded wrought-iron railing. Base-shoe channel system with no top rail, preserving the view of Kingston in the valley below.
Brief
The villa sits on a hillside with a panoramic view of the city. The previous wrought-iron railing was visually heavy and starting to rust at the fixings. The owner wanted to keep the view unobstructed while meeting code for railing height and load.
What we installed
- 22 linear metres of frameless balustrade
- Base-shoe aluminum channel, polished anodised finish
- 12mm tempered laminated safety glass panels
- 1100mm panel height (code-compliant for the elevation)
- Stainless steel cap rail along the section adjoining the staircase
